WHAT ARE WRINKLE RELAXERS?
Wrinkle relaxers (also called neurotoxins, tox, or neuromodulators) are an FDA approved treatment that have been used medically since the 1970s. They are safe, highly effective, and require zero downtime. When carefully injected, Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport give skin a smooth and renewed appearance that looks natural.
HOW DO WRINKLE RELAXERS WORK?
They work by blocking the release of a neurotransmitter that signals muscles to contract. By temporarily paralyzing the targeted facial muscles, wrinkle relaxers reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, giving the skin a smoother, more youthful look. This process also helps prevent the formation of new wrinkles by limiting repetitive muscle movements associated with facial expressions.
WHAT KIND OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?
You’ll start to see results of smoother, more relaxed skin within 48 hours, but can take up to 14 days. Depending on the location of the treatment, the brand used, your muscle activity, and your body’s individual response, you can start to regain some movement around weeks 8-10 and will slowly progress back to your baseline around 3-4 months post treatment.

It depends on several factors including: which area(s) you are trying to treat (11s, forehead, crow’s feet, etc), the strength of your facial muscles, and how deep your existing lines are. We recommend a complimentary consultation with our nurse injector to create a plan that’s right for you.

Not really - it feels like a pinch! The needle is small, thin, and it goes by quickly to decrease the possibility of pain. No numbing agents are needed.

There’s virtually zero downtime with these treatments. Neurotoxins are often referred to as a “lunchtime procedure,” since most patients return directly back to work or normal activity immediately. Some redness and swelling may occur at the injection sites, but it usually subsides within a few hours. Very rarely, patients may experience minor bruising.
Post-treatment tips to make your tox last longer: avoid strenuous activity for the 24 hours post treatment. Remain upright for at least the first 4 hours. No massages for at least 2 weeks. Be aware that saunas, hot yoga, and heat in general can cause tox to wear off quicker.

While Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin are all injectables (specifically, botulinum toxin injections) used to treat and prevent wrinkles, their chemical compositions are slightly different which can make one more effective than the other at specific injection sites. We recommend talking to our nurse injector to understand which product is the best fit for you!

Neurotoxin injections are very common, low risk procedures. Headache, minor bruising or swelling at the injection site are the most common, but still rare side effects. As with any treatment, there are always risks which your nurse injector will walk you through prior to treatment.

Please don’t wear any makeup to your appointment. Our injectors need to be able to see your fine lines and wrinkles clearly. Avoid ibuprofen, alcohol, and coffee 24 hours prior to your appointment. These are more likely to cause easier bruising.
People who are pregnant or nursing are not eligible for neurotoxin treatment.
